For years operators have been concerned about the rise of the OTT players, concerned that some day they may dominate the market.
Is the latest news of Facebook’s 10% acquisition of Jio in India (https://lnkd.in/gwc29Hr) the start of the process for OTT players to go beyond dominating the market and taking over the MNOs themselves?
One defence for this for an MNO is to have their own OTT offering, or, as we talked about previously (https://lnkd.in/gUA7Js7), to move from OTT to a TTO (Through-The-Operator) model.
