Our Asia Director Iqbal, and Co-Founder Shanks met His Excellency Mr. Fakhriddin Sultanov, Consul General, at the Uzbekistan embassy in Bangkok to discuss telecoms opportunities in the region.

An incredible, historic country, filled with unique landscapes of natural beauty and breathtaking architecture, Uzbekistan has also seen rapid economic and social reform recently. Now becoming a true, modern market economy, international financial institutions, including EBRD, Asian Development Bank and the World Bank are actively engaging in supporting Uzbekistan’s successful reform process.

Uzbekistan has what it takes to become a regional economic powerhouse: a dynamic, literate, and entrepreneurial population – the largest in Central Asia; relatively good infrastructure; and the largest potential consumer market in the region.
